Titus 2 Ministries
Women's Discipleship Ministry of Midway PCA
You must teach what is in accord with sound doctrine . . . teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God. (Titus 2:1, 3-5)
Midway Presbyterian Church (PCA) began a Titus 2 women’s discipleship ministry in January 2004 to help women establish covenant relationships with godly women who will encourage and equip them to live for God’s glory.
The Titus mandate was given to the pastor of the church. Paul instructed young Titus to equip older women in the congregation for the ministry of teaching younger women. This is to take place within the context of sound doctrine and under ecclesiastical authority. It is a part of healthy covenant life. The commitment, oversight and protection of church leadership are biblical and essential.
This spiritual mothering program at Midway is one of the ministries of the Women in the Church, and is part of the Christian Education program. It does not replace existing Bible studies or Circles. These are informal, small group topical studies designed to build relationships with godly older women and to teach biblical principles of womanhood.
To encourage and equip other churches to begin their own spiritual mothering ministries, detailed information about our Titus 2 ministry can be downloaded from the link on this page. If you have questions, please email Titus2@midwayPCA.org.
