Linda received her undergraduate degree in elementary education from Belhaven College in Mississippi, and a graduate degree in education from Reformed Theological Seminary. For 16 years, Linda was an elementary classroom teacher, and then worked in software development and training. After leaving a career as a consultant with a major software company, Linda believed God was calling her to use her gifts and abilities as a teacher on the mission field.

During the three years that Linda has been with Mission to the World in Nagoya, Japan a school has been planned and developed by the MTW church planting team, a Southern Baptist missionary, and the Network of International Christian Schools. The International Christian Academy of Nagoya, known as ICAN, has a theme taken from Philippians 4:13, “I CAN do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

At ICAN students from the United States, Canada, Japan, Brazil, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, Yugoslavia, Bangladesh, and Korea learn about Jesus Christ, believe in Him and tell their parents about the one true God.

Ministry Update Linda is currently on Home Ministry Assignment in the United States and has been approved by MTW to return to Japan as a teacher in the school, and as a career missionary with the Nagoya church planting team. While her main priority will be teaching children in the international Christian school, she will also continue to attend the new church plant and be involved in women’s Bible studies and discipleship as those doors open.

Praise God that the school has grown to 46 students in kindergarten through eighth grade.

Pray for Her Ministry

Pray for Linda as she begins language school and learns as much of the Japanese language as she can until she returns to Japan in August 2002. Pray for the growth of the school, and for wisdom and guidance for the teachers and staff

Pray for Those She Serves

Please pray for the students at the International Christian Academy. Some are missionary children, and some are unsaved nationals and internationals who are hearing the Gospel for the first time through the ministry of the school. Pray that the Japanese would have passion for Jesus Christ and the Word of God and that there would be a great movement of the Holy Spirit in that country.

Pray for Her

Please pray for Linda’s focus to remain on Jesus Christ. Pray that God will provide the financial and prayer support that Linda needs, and that she will be able to return quickly to her work in Japan. Pray for safety as she travels during her Home Ministry Assignment, visiting supporting churches.
